2021 GetResponse Review: Is it Worth It ?





Are you thinking of using GetResponse? 

In my GetResponse summary for 2021, I'll take a close look at this famous email marketing tool. 

We'll go into the positives, pitfalls, and everything else there is to talk about GetResponse.

GetResponse has a wonderful all-in-one solution that allows you to create quick newsletters or complex automation flows, create landing pages, and host webinars without ever leaving the GetResponse interface.

The gui can seem dated in contrast to flashier (and more expensive) resources like Drip and Campaign Monitor, but don't judge a book by its cover; GetResponse's design is solid and can boost the marketing strategies in a variety of ways.

To continue this GetResponse analysis, I'll go over the email marketing feature in depth. Then, before I finish, I'll focus on the landing page creator and webinar feature. 

Let's get started... 


1. GetResponse Autopilot Email Marketing 


Consider the following:

A visitor to your website sees an email opt-in process customized to their specific desires. Let's use "WordPress" as an example because we blog a lot about it. 

That person decides to participate. 

To build targeted segmentation, you immediately tag them with "WordPress." 

Then, depending on the segmentation, you send out a welcome email automatically.

In that welcome email, you present your free email course on "how to speed up WordPress" and tell your subscriber to "click the button below to get started with the free course." 

The button is pressed by your subscriber. Then, without any manual interference, GetResponse applies a new segmentation tag to them and begins sending them your email path.

Most notably, you can set up all of this workflow using a basic drag-and-drop gui – you don't have to be a tech wizard. 

That is the kind of encounter you would have with GetResponse. 

Let me walk you through it... 


1.1. Using GetResponse to Build Opt-in Forms

Email marketing starts with your opt-in form, so I believe the best way to begin the hands-on part of this GetResponse analysis is with that. 

When you go to build a form with GetResponse, you have four options: 


  • List Builder Wizard – helps you to choose from a number of models and modify them to your preferences. This are all in-line types.
  • List Builder Apps – allows you to create more complicated forms, such as an exit-intent popup or a shake box. 
  • Plain Template – creates a basic HTML form to which you can apply your own CSS styling. 
  • Integrations are dedicated apps that assist you in integrating with Facebook, WordPress, and other platforms. 


For this analysis, I'll show you the List Builder Wizard – just note that you have choices!

With the wizard, you'll first choose from hundreds of models, which are conveniently grouped into groups on the side

The prototype will then be loaded into the editor, where you can choose what details you want to gather using the pre-defined fields on the right. You can also edit text by simply clicking and typing – it's that easy

When you're done, you can use JavaScript to publish the form and embed it anywhere. Alternatively, you should use the GetResponse WordPress plugin to incorporate the forms for you. 

GetResponse also integrates with the majority of third-party opt-in software. You can conveniently combine it with OptinMonster, for example. 


1.2. Build Emails Using A Drag-And-Drop Editor


When you've collected a few subscribers via your opt-in forms, it's time to start sending emails! 

GetResponse offers two methods for sending emails to do this: 

  • Drag-and-Drop Email Editor – create emails visually using a drag-and-drop editor. 
  • HTML Source Plugin – If you'd rather not use the editor, you should add your own HTML.

When you open the editor, you'll first insert some simple stuff, such as the subject line and email address. 

One cool feature is that you can personalize the subject line (for example, you can address people by their first name in the subject line).

Since 82 percent of marketers show a rise in open rates via email personalization, it's awesome that GetResponse makes personalization so simple to set up

Following that, much as for your opt-in forms, you can choose from 200+ pre-made email templates. You can also make your own from scratch.

Some of these templates are a little dated, but there are plenty of great-looking new ones as well

After you've chosen your template, you'll be able to personalize it by modifying all of the text and inserting new material using the drag-and-drop graphic editor. Aside from the main gui buttons, clicking on current content will reveal a new collection of icons to assist you in customizing items.

There is a slight learning curve here, especially when it comes to determining what any of the icons actually mean. But, once you get the hang of it, it's quick to configure your email and you have a lot of influence, even over minor details

The editor also has a Mobile preview feature, which allows you to easily see how your email would appear on various platforms. This is another critical aspect because more than half the emails are already read on mobile devices. To summarize, you want the mobile edition to look almost as good as the desktop version!

After you've finished customizing your email, you can select which list it should be sent to

After that, you'll see a rundown of all your settings and be able to send out your email blast. 


1.3. Use GetResponse to Build a Quick Autoresponder 


Let's presume you want to send a welcoming email to anyone who signed up for your list.

I'll go through more sophisticated automation options in the following segment, but if you only want a basic autoresponder, GetResponse's Build Autoresponder tool makes it really simple. 

First, you'll decide when your autoresponder will be sent. You might, for example, submit it as soon as anyone signs up. You may also have a delay

Then, you can either choose a current email or click the Create new email button to open the same email builder feature that you saw earlier. 

Then you may post your autoresponder and it will go live automatically. Isn't it simple? 

From the Autoresponders section, you can control (and pause) your autoresponders as needed


2. Use GetResponse to Build Your Own Email Automation Workflows 


With GetResponse's advanced email marketing solutions, stuff start to get very strong... 

In the previous portion, I demonstrated how to manually build an email and even set up some basic autoresponders.

Now I'll teach you how to take the automation to the next level with GetResponse's Marketing Automation creator. 

You'll be able to set up comprehensive email marketing automation workflows using yet another drag-and-drop interface, placing the marketing activities on autopilot.

When you first enter the Automation room, you can choose from a number of pre-configured workflows or build one from scratch. 

These pre-made workflows are extremely useful because they allow you to easily set up more sophisticated forms of automation, but for this example, I'm going to create one from scratch

Let's return to my earlier example and tell you want to: 

After they sign up using a special form, send them a welcoming email introducing your "How to Speed Up WordPress" course. 

Name them and enroll them in an instant email course about how to speed up WordPress if they click a connection in that email. 

You'll need two things to get the automation up and running:

  • Conditions - conditions  are things that you or a guest "do," such as filling out a questionnaire, clicking a connection, adding someone to a list, and so on. 
  • Actions – actions are what occur after a demand is met. It may be as easy as inserting a new tag or submitting a text. 

Simply combine these state and intervention blocks in a visual, human-friendly interface to build the workflow.

Assume you already have an autoresponder set up for your welcome account. You now want to enroll people in the WordPress course if they select a connection in the newsletter. 

To begin, add a condition for Link clicked in the welcome email

If the condition is satisfied, you can do the following: 

  • Add a segmentation tag. 
  • Begin giving them your email course on "How to Speed Up WordPress." 

You'd need to do two actions to do this. One for attaching the tag, and one for adding the subscriber to a new workflow for your email course. 

To link the conditions and acts, simply draw a line like this

You can be very creative about how you simplify your efforts with this automation designer – I'm just scratching the surface. 


Stuff can be caused by situations such as: 

  • Subscribing to a mailing list 
  • Activating a link by clicking on it 
  • Creating a statement (Sending a text message )
  • Going to a new page on the website 
  • Text delivery 
  • Buying something (for eCommerce stores) 

 

Then there are acts for: 

  • Submit an email 
  • Create a new custom field
  • Add a note to it (tag)
  • Copy or move the collection to a different place. 
  • Copy or switch your automation workflow to a different one. 
  • Add a note to it it. 
  • Make the switch to a CRM pipeline (great for sales teams)

3. The following Three Features Are Also Beneficial! 


I assume you'll find these features useful in addition to the key email marketing features mentioned above... 


3.1. Email Analytics in Depth

GetResponse includes an analytics section that activate as you begin sending emails, where you can monitor valuable details such as: 

  • The involvement you receive (if the email you send are opened)
  • A number of clicks 
  • Objectives 
  • Subscribers that have unsubscribed 
  • The number of email you sent that bounced
  • And so on. 


The analytics section is perfect for most people's needs, but I believe the specialized results fall behind certain other email marketing resources.

For starters, I find Campaign Monitor's Insights dashboard to be a much more enjoyable experience overall. 


3.2. Use GetResponse for A/B Checking 


A/B research allows you to improve your emails by comparing how different changes impact your open and click speeds. 

You'll be able to set up A/B tests for the following until you allow the A/B testing functionality: 

  • Line of the subject 
  • In the sector 
  • The material (content)
  • Time for delivery

The variety of A/B testing choices is fantastic. 

There's a lot of research, for example, that the time you send emails has a huge impact on your open rate. You will find the right delivery time for your list by conducting A/B checks on delivery dates. As a result, the email marketing campaigns will be more effective. 


3.3. Integrations with GetResponse


GetResponse has dedicated integrations for 125+ applications, as well as a Zapier plugin, which allows you to link to all of the 1,000+ apps on Zapier. 

There are integrations for: 

  • Platforms for eCommerce 
  • Socio-media 
  • Systems for managing content 
  • Analytical methods 
  • “Other”  (anything else's catch-all)

This raw statistic is marginally smaller than that of some other email marketing software. But, to be honest, it's not about the raw figure. It is all about whether or not the tool has the specific integrations you need.

So, I'll leave this one to you. If you really must have an integration, you will find a complete list here, or you will be able to communicate via Zapier if there is no official integration. 


3.4. Free Tools provided by GetResponse


GetResponse has a few free tools that can help you move your email campaigns to the next level and make dealing with emails a breeze.

  • To see how your final product will appear in your recipients' inboxes, use the Inbox Preview function. 
  • Spam Score Checker: This free service allows you to search your email campaign for any possible elements that might prompt your recipient's email client to respond with a spam response. Ensures that you don't end up in the spam folder.
  • Custom DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail): Custom DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is an authentication method for email senders and recipients. It boosts your email deliverability while also enhancing your brand identity.
  • GetResponse is GDPR compliant and has specific guidance for how they handle obligations. GDPR consent fields enable you to embed custom consent checkboxes in your sign up forms, build and maintain various consent fields, and segment subscribers in your workflow depending on their consent. 


GetResponse isn't just for email marketing anymore! It's so much more than that

So far, I've focused mostly on GetResponse's email capabilities. 

But here's the catch: 

GetResponse isn't just for email marketing; it also has landing page and webinar features, as well as a full-fledged CRM.

4. GetResponse Landing Pages Assessment

GetResponse often includes a drag-and-drop landing page builder feature, a plethora of pre-made models, and A/B testing support for your money. 

As with designing an email campaign, you'll first be given the option of choosing one of the pre-made landing page templates or creating one from scratch:

Then you'll be in the drag-and-drop editor, where you can configure the appearance of your landing page. You may also use the right-side buttons to add new content, such as a PayPal Buy Now button or a form

The landing page builder also has a smartphone edition that allows you to customize how your landing page appears on mobile devices.

Again, with how fast the platform is moving towards smartphones, the focus on responsive design is very welcome. 

Overall, I liked how GetResponse makes it easy to build gorgeous, conversion-optimized landing pages that are ready to go in no time. 


5. GetResponse Webinar Assessment: it allows user to Run Live Or Pre-Recorded Webinars


If you want to host a webinar? GetResponse will also assist you with this!

When you create your webinar, you'll be given a specific URL as well as the ability to monitor the start time and registrations: 

Following that, GetResponse will assist you in capturing your webinar material from your computer or phone (you can either record live or in advance). Your attendees will then be able to listen in from everywhere in the country.

The best aspect of this functionality is how well it integrates with the rest of the GetResponse network.

6. GetResponse Pricing

GetResponse's pricing model starts at $15 for 1000 subscribers and with the highest subscription being the enterprise plan.

GetResponse enterprise package price being a custom price for list sizes larger than 100,000. 

Let's take a closer look at GetResponse pricing... 

To begin, GetResponse provides a 30-day free trial (no credit card required). And you don't have to take my GetResponse analysis at face value – you can check out all of these features for free. 

Following that, the price mostly differ depending on: 

  • The size of the email list
  • Characteristics or features you need

The cost of a simple email account for 1,000 users begins at $15 per month. Then, as you add more features and subscribers, the price rise. 

GetResponse's pricing model is as follows:



6.1. Pricing Comparison: GetResponse vs. Mailchimp 

MailChimp's free plan for a short amount of time. After that, paid plans for 1,000 users start at $15 a month, which is the same as GetResponse in terms of price, but feature-wise, I'd take GetResponse any day. 


6.2. Pricing Comparison: GetResponse vs. ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign's plans for 1,000 users begin at $29 per month (billed monthly) or $17 per month (billed annually), making it marginally more costly than GetResponse. 


6.3. Pricing Comparison: GetResponse vs. Aweber 

AWeber's rates launch at $19 a month for 500 users, making it considerably more expensive than GetResponse.


Please keep in mind that GetResponse is not only less expensive than its rivals (who are seldom comparable to what GetResponse offers), but it often has a complete one-month free trial, which further lowers its pricing.

7. Analysis of GetResponse support and Service Efficiency 


GetResponse is one such marketing platform that provides unrivaled assistance.

GetResponse delivers live chat support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, where other top-tier email marketing platforms, such as ConvertKit, do not. 

GetResponse used to provide 24-hour phone support, but it has since been discontinued (no other email marketing services, except Aweber offers this).

It also provides email assistance in seven languages (English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese), which is admirable. It illustrates that they care!

Aside from a well-maintained knowledge base and daily live webinars to assist you in scaling your email marketing strategies, they have a plethora of free email marketing courses and tools such as GetResponse University, Funnel Marketing, Email Design, Mobile Marketing, and E-commerce to name a few. 

In terms of service efficiency, GetResponse is one of the best.


Conclusion

Is GetResponse Worth the Money? 

Yes, GetResponse as an email marketing solution is unquestionably worthwhile. 

Allow me to explain why: 

GetResponse allows you access to a plethora of functionality at a lower cost than most of the competition. 

You can use the email marketing features to do anything from submit a basic newsletter to develop comprehensive automation workflows.

Although the interface can feel a little dated in sections, GetResponse does an outstanding job of making this feature available to both beginner and experienced users. 

If you're able to spend a bit extra, GetResponse will even provide you with landing pages and webinars in addition to email.

Again, I believe the convergence is the most significant advantage here. By including these features, you can easily integrate all of your marketing activities.
