Hello, affiliates and business owners.
You've actually arrived on this page because you've read of Click Magic (properly spelled ClickMagick) and have been advised to use link monitoring tools in your affiliate marketing campaigns to increase their profitability.
If that is the case, you have come to the right place. It is here that I share affiliate marketing ideas from my own experience with those potential affiliates who want to succeed as well. To view my affiliate marketing archive, please click here.
If you haven't set up a campaign yet, or if you're thinking of starting one, you've probably learned that it's critical to monitor the success of your campaign with a link monitoring program.
What is the significance of this? Why should you be worried about incorporating connection monitoring tools into your ad campaigns?
If you read all the way to the end, you'll learn what you need to know about link tracking and ad tracking, as well as why I recommend ClickMagick is one of the best link tracking and ad tracking applications for your affiliate marketing campaigns.
If you read all the way to the end, you'll learn what you need to know about link tracking and ad tracking, as well as why I think ClickMagick is one of the best link tracking and ad tracking applications for affiliate marketing campaigns.
1. What is ClickMagic ?
ClickMagick is a cloud-based link monitoring app that allows you to monitor and track all types of connections and advertisements. You name it: social media connections, pay-per-click (PPC) advertisements, solo advertising, banner ads, and media buys.
ClickMagick, unlike most other click tracking apps, encompasses every aspect of the sales funnel.
It's easy to keep track of the funnels from the first opt-in to the last upsell or downsell. ClickMagick can monitor any follow-up emails and clicks that lead to certain acts or purchases.
This is how precise ClickMagick is!
2. What exactly does ClickMagick do?
Patrick Kelly, an associate marketer, created the app Click Magic. It was created in 2014 to assist other affiliates in increasing the profitability of their campaigns by optimizing their traffic and websites.
If you are an associate marketer or a marketer in general, whether you are buying traffic or using multiple traffic sources in your campaigns, your aim should often be to optimize the expense of your traffic campaigns or to identify which traffic sources are bringing in the best results in your campaigns.
Let's look at a scenario to make us understand this further.
Assume you've decided to use four separate free traffic tools to help you create traffic for your affiliate deals. Let's call them traffic source A, B, C, and D.
They'll be referred to as traffic source A, traffic source B, traffic source C, and traffic source D, respectively.
You're advertising an affiliate deal for a health supplement, and you've posted about it in all four traffic streams, along with your affiliate connection.
How would you know where to spend your time if you didn't know which traffic source helped you close the deal? Do you want to waste your time blogging on all four traffic channels, or do you want to focus your efforts on the one that helped you make five sales?
Personally, I'd rather concentrate my efforts on the one traffic source that was producing results than on all four traffic sources, which would be a waste of my resources. Do you agree with me?
This is what Click Magic can help you with. It enables you to exclude any aspect of your affiliate marketing strategy that isn't effective for you – whether it's a traffic source, a keyword, an email list, or something else.
It assists you in tracking something in your campaign that lets you get conversions.
I only used free traffic as an example. Let me explain this further by using another example, this time with paying traffic.
Assume you're driving traffic to an affiliate deal via Facebook Ads. You create a campaign with four distinct markets in mind.
Since the affiliate deal forbids you from using the Facebook pixel on the affiliate conversion page, you must focus on guesswork to determine which audience generated a transaction.
What if you had five profits from the campaign, and one of those viewers was the source of those sales?
To drive traffic to the affiliate offer, you initially spent $20 per audience. You invested a total of $80 and made $200. However, one of those audiences was responsible for all of the sales.
Wouldn’t it be easier and better to monitor the advertising and spend just $20 to make around $200 instead of spending more than $70 to make $200?
You will be able to boost your promotions to make them more successful if you used Click Magic to monitor your connections and advertising.
This is exactly what ClickMagick does, and that's why I suggest using it in your affiliate marketing toolkit.
3. How does ClickMagick work?
ClickMagick is great for monitoring ad campaigns, but it also has a lot of other helpful features. Let's start by talking about how to track your campaigns.
A custom domain is needed to get started with Click Magic.
A custom domain is a name that you assign to a domain or URL that is exclusive to you. It is, in essence, your own territory that you and no one else owns.
To build a custom domain, you can go to Namecheap, where you can get a domain name for less than a dollar.
Once you have a personalized domain, you must connect it to Click Magic, which will be used to generate a range of tracking links for your affiliate marketing campaigns.
I can't tell you exactly how the app works, but here are my reflections based on my experience with Click Magic.
When a user clicks on your tracking connection or personalized domain, this link tracking program detects it. If you have set up a campaign to monitor the amount of leads provided by an ad campaign, the app can recognise whether a visitor lands on a website page that only a subscriber can reach when they opt into a contact form by using Click Magic's pixels.
When the same user arrives on a website page that only a customer can have access to when they order a product, the program will recognize them. If you have a monitoring link in place to monitor revenue from various traffic sources, you will be able to determine which traffic source is generating the most sales and thus is the most lucrative for you.
Your tracking connection is needed for Click magic to work. A pixel must also be added to the relevant website page where a visitor can land.
3.1. What exactly is a pixel?
A pixel is a piece of website code that you can add to the website's html settings. ClickMagick provides you with the exact code you need. You won't have to think about learning how to code so many website builders have made it simple to copy and paste website code into their html settings.
Here's an example of a ClickMagick pixel that I applied to my LeadPages landing page with ease. It's as simple as copying and pasting.
What if you're marketing an affiliate deal but don't own the affiliate website? You won't be able to put the Click Magic pixel on the affiliate landing page to monitor transactions because you don't have access to it.
That is also not a concern. With Click Magic, you can watch affiliate purchases in a variety of ways.
Most partner networks accept these approaches, which involve using postback URLs or sub-IDs. If your partner network does not endorse these approaches, Click Magic advises using a tool called a "bonus list" to monitor purchases.
3.2. What exactly is a Postback URL?
To put it simply, a postback URL is a means for one channel to connect with another, informing them that a conversion has occurred.
For eg, if you are a Maxbounty affiliate and want Maxbounty to automatically alert you when an affiliate selling transfer occurs, you can set up a postback URL between Maxbounty and ClickMagick.
Maxbounty would then "chat" to Click Magic and notify them of the conversion. Click Magic will then notify you through their reminder function that a conversion occurred.
Click here to read my comprehensive Maxbounty and Bing Ads blog post about how to set up an affiliate marketing plan for Maxbounty, Bing Ads, and ClickMagick.
You can quickly create a postback URL by copying and pasting the script code provided by Click Magic into your affiliate network's postback URL settings.
3.3. What exactly are sub-IDs?
Sub-IDs are essentially identifiers that you build or that the affiliate network creates that go at the end of a URL to help you recognize anything. The URL in this case is your monitoring address or affiliate connection.
Assume you're marketing a health supplement affiliate deal and want to monitor three different traffic sources: a Facebook ad, your blog, or a Bing Ad.
Sub-IDs can be added to the end of the tracking connection to say Click Magic where the click originated.
www.mylinktracker.com might be the tracking link. The below is an example of a sub-ID at the end of a tracking link:
Facebook ad : www.mylinktracker.com/xyz/fbad
Blog : www.mylinktracker.com/xyz/blog
Search engine Bing: http://mylinktracker.com/xyz/bing
That's it! As a result, the sub-ID serves as a guide to assist you in determining which traffic channel is generating the most clicks. You don't even need to build separate monitoring links for each traffic source. Using sub-IDs instead.
Affiliate networks will also use sub-IDs to better monitor conversions in certain situations.
The network could have parameters that are their own identifiers which are applied to sub-IDs in this situation.
Click Magic offers tutorials to help you set up each tracking tool, regardless of the method you use to manage your campaigns.
4. Features of ClickMagick
ClickMagick promises to have over 120 features to assist you in making more money online.
That's a lot of information!
To prevent doubt and overwhelm, it only makes sense to categorize their marketing tools ecosystem.
I'll go over all of the better ClickMagick functionality later, but for now, here's a brief peek at the main navigation menu.
You may be curious as to what Click Magic looks like on the inside.
Let's take a look around so you can see for yourself what this connection monitoring app can do. It will get you one step closer to deciding that you need connection monitoring software in your professional life.
4.1. Links
This is where you build your tracking ties.
ClickMagick will follow each tracking connection you generate here and gather additional data from those who click on it.
Data can include location, web server, system type, and other factors.
The "Links" menu appears to be very easy, eh?
That is, before you visit the “Advanced Settings,” which is when the magic occurs.
Conversion tracking, pixel code, split testing, and password are just a few of the key features here.
Later on, you'll learn more about these awesome ClickMagick features.
4.2. Organic
This is where you can track all of your page's organic traffic.
Search engine traffic, referral traffic, and even direct traffic from users tapping the URL into their web browser are all sources of traffic.
The organic traffic coming from safe websites (those with HTTPS) on the other hand, cannot be exposed. Secure websites are not permitted to transfer referrer information.
This category of traffic is labeled as "zero."
4.3. The Rotators
“Rotators” is the most effective platform for network traffic providers.
Based on the rule you specify, this feature allows you to break and send a single connection to several destinations.
In various rotator types, such as sequential, spillover, fulfillment, and random, you can select how your ties rotate.
It's similar to split testing, but there's no testing.
This is valuable for those that market advertisements such as posters, solos, or even PPC.
You can use Click Magic's connection rotator tool to help you rotate several links and deliver traffic to them whether you're a single ad vendor or part of a traffic co-op.
4.4. content
Three powerful features are available in the “Content” menu.
In reality, they are among my favorites.
Timers, MagickPops, and MagickBars
Later on, you'll learn more about these incredible tools.
4.5. Tools
Batch Editor, Data Importer/Exporter, IP Lookup, and IP Manager are among the valuable applications included under the "Tools" menu.
Later, you'll learn more about these features.
5. ClickMagick's Top 12 Features
ClickMagick's most essential feature is the ability to track clicks.
This tool is also jam-packed with features. Apps that bring value to the web marketing company rather than simply being there for the sake of using them.
Let's take a look at some of ClickMagick's most common and useful features.
You might be curious as to what Click Magic looks like on the inside.
Let's take a look around so you can see for yourself what this connection monitoring app can do. It will get you one step closer to deciding that you need connection monitoring software in your professional life.
5.1. Sub-IDs for Link Tracking
ClickMagick allows you to establish special tracking IDs, making it easy to determine where specific clicks originate.
How is this useful?
Say, you are using a direct link to an associate product and scatter the same link all over the web — sidebar ad, pop-up, anchor text, etc.
Since you're using the same connection, it's difficult to tell which clicks came from which source.
ClickMagick makes it easy to monitor traffic and conversions by allowing you to use a special sub-ID for each connection source.
For example, I'd like to include my ClickFunnels affiliate connection in three places: a review article, a lead magnet, and a suggested marketing tool page.
ClickMagick lets you assign distinct sub-IDs to each of these locations.
What if your affiliate program doesn't allow you to use sub-IDs?
Don't be concerned!
The sub-IDs are already visible in your ClickMagick statistics.
While this is just one of the few ways to use sub-IDs, it is a good start.
5.2. Click Magic Statistics
When you log in to Click Magic, you'll be taken to your home page, where you'll see your daily stats. You can also change the dates and select whichever dates you want to view.
The number of monitoring link clicks you got, the number of rotator link clicks you had, whether anything was set up, the number of conversions you had (actions, engagements, or sales), and the amount of money earned are all broken down in these figures.
When you set up the monitoring ties and pixels, these figures will be correct.
5.3. ClickMagick Training
Click Magic's home page also includes links to their Experts Academy, a collection of digital marketing courses available for the Standard and Pro plans. Every month, you can choose one new free training from the Experts Academy.
The basic and pro plans begin at $67/month, so you are basically paying $67 for free digital marketing training.
I'm not convinced, since I'm aware of other websites that have unrestricted access to courses at the same fee. To determine if this is something worth your time and money, begin with the basic plan.
There's also an introduction to Click Magic preparation, which includes email monitoring, social media tracking, and a click tracking guide, in addition to the introduction to the Experts Academy.
But if you've logged in, there's no need to go somewhere else. On the home page, you'll find all the information you need to get started.
5.4. Make a tracking link
Once you've completed the class, you should start building monitoring connections to track your campaigns right away.
Do not ignore however that you first need a custom domain. This is a one-of-a-kind domain for you.
I do not advocate using ClickMagick’s own domain, because many affiliates still use this and it could tarnish your promotions if you are using traffic outlets like Facebook or Google.
To get your own personalized Click Magic domain, go to Namecheap and purchase one for $0.99; then connect it to ClickMagick via your Domain Manager.
5.5. Split Test with ClickMagick
If you'd like to split test more than one landing page or bid, use ClickMagick's split testing tool.
Split testing entails making several variations of something, such as a landing page or a bid, and putting them to the test for the audience to see which one performs best.
Click Magic will then track your split test and notify you of the obvious winner, assisting you in your marketing activities.
By clicking the gear icon on the tracking link that you make, you can access this option in the actual link settings.
5.6. Quality of Click Magic Traffic
You may need to purchase traffic as an affiliate marketer. The traffic quality function assists you in understanding the quality of your traffic by including a ClickMagick indicator, indicating whether your traffic is really decent, good, mediocre, or bad.
A low traffic quality rating also indicates that the traffic is bogus or bot traffic.
If you're a traffic buyer, this data will help you figure out whether or not your vendor is supplying you with high-quality traffic.
If you have any doubts, show the provider your traffic report, which will help any disagreements you might have.
5.7. Analysis of Click Magic Traffic
If you want to take a closer look at your traffic and see where your visitors and conversions are coming from?
The traffic analysis report then tells you which country has the most users clicking on your links, as well as what device they're using (mobile or desktop) and what operating system they're using.
5.8. Content Tools by ClickMagick
Click Magic isn't just for tracking. They also have resources to support you with your marketing, such as to grab leads or to apply urgency timers to landing pages.
To generate more leads, use Click Magic's content tools such as MagickPops, MagickBars, and timers to add lead capture pop up boxes and bars to your blog pages or landing pages.
Whether you have a deal or want a customer to take urgent action, their countdown timers come in handy.
Before you think this connection tracking app is perfect for assisting you in generating leads on your websites, I must say that their pop up lead boxes and warning bars might use an upgrade.
Their editor reminds me of the 1990s, and navigating to actually build the lead pop up box and navigation bar has been a little complicated.
Check it out for yourself. Don't you think it's outdated?
5.9. Notification from ClickMagick
If you're buying traffic, you're probably interested in how your landing pages or even the traffic is performing.
As a result, you can use Click Magic to set up alerts to notify you when those rules apply.
For eg, if you've set up a tracking connection with the goal of generating leads, you can have Click Magic send you an email or SMS when the lead conversion rate falls below 20% after 500 clicks.
This prevents you from spending money on something that isn't running well and allows you to repair it.
5.10. Magic Link Down click
ClickMagick's reminders that notify you when a connection is down are another excellent function. This is helpful in situations where an affiliate network's connection or offer is changed or deactivated, causing the affiliate link to stop operating.
If this occurs, ClickMagick keeps an eye on the connection and sends you an email notification as soon as it goes down.
This allows you to explore it further, saving you money while you are paying for traffic. Alternatively, if the link is no longer active, it gives you the option to change it.
5.11. ClickMagick Support
I've been on the starter plan with Click Magic since I got started using this connect tracking app in 2016 and the service has been no less than fantastic.
You won't get immediate help, but you'll get a comment within four hours if you submit a support ticket.
What I like about their service is that they tailor their answers to your specific needs and go over and beyond to assist you.
If required, they will also include instructional videos that will teach you why there is a problem and how to solve it.
The sort of plan you have will decide how easily you will obtain assistance. The starter kit includes four hours of service. The regular and pro policies have one-hour service.
Aside from their assistance, they still have a Knowledge Base and a plethora of video guides to help you explore and figure out this monitoring app.
6. Who is Click Magic intended for?
Any marketer who wants to monitor the success of something, such as connection clicks, merchandise purchases, partner conversions, members, split checks, and so on, can use Click Magic.
6.1. Click Magic is great for Affiliates
Affiliate marketers mainly use this relation monitoring program to help them increase the effectiveness and profitability of their campaigns.
People who do affiliate marketing, I highly advise you to use this connection monitoring program to better manage your campaigns.
6.2. Click Magic is great for Bloggers
Bloggers may also use it to determine which blog post is generating the most conversions.
For eg, if you had many blog posts advertising an affiliate deal, wouldn't knowing which one was sending the most traffic and resulting in the most conversions be helpful?
That way, you'll be able to improve that blog post and advertise it more effectively to increase conversions.
Click Magic is also helpful to me as a writer because it allows me to add referral connections to my blog. When I promote a product on my blog, I always use the Click Magic tracking link rather than the associate link.
This is due to the possibility that an affiliate connection will become inactive. That means, I will have to go through each blog post and delete the associate connection.
It will take me a long time to finish.
However, by first connecting the affiliate link to a ClickMagick tracking list, I can simply log into my Click Magic account and change the tracking link for the new affiliate link, saving me time and keeping me from losing out on valuable conversions.
6.2. Click Magic is great for Product owners
You can use ClickMagick to map and benefit from your own product marketing efforts in the same way as an associate can.
You may be building an email list of subscribers. Click Magic will help you build a split test, compare the output of each landing page, and give you precise data as to which one is more effective if you have two landing pages and choose to split test them.
Click Magic can be used to monitor the success of a funnel in an advertising campaign.
To put it succinctly, Click Magic isn't just a platform for affiliate marketers. Any marketer who wants to monitor the success of a campaign and optimize it to make it more successful will use this app.
7. How to use Click Magic to monitor an entire sales funnel
With ClickMagick, you can map a sales funnel from beginning to end.
In reality, Click Magic has a step-by-step guide that will walk you through creating tracking links for each funnel page and piecing them together.
As an affiliate or product owner, it's critical that the funnels are well monitored so you can see how they do in relation to the traffic that's directed to them.
You will then optimize the funnel to increase conversions.
When conversions are increased, any visitor that enters your funnel is maximized, allowing you to boost your marketing strategies and increase your ROI.
8. Pricing for ClickMagick
To get started, you can choose from three different plans.
Think if you are a high traffic buyer who will be sending a lot of traffic to your monitoring links before determining which strategy to proceed with.
If this is the case and you are unsure, you can still begin with the starter package. If you surpass the amount of clicks permitted under the starter package, Click Magic will automatically upgrade you to the second, normal plan.
Another factor to think of is the amount of custom domains you want to have. If you will only have one custom domain to use as a tracking connection to track anything, the starter package might be a good choice for you.
The basic plan provides for two custom domains.
If you plan on using more than two custom domains, the regular or pro plan could be a safer choice.
