What is SocialPilot?
SocialPilot is a cloud-based social media marketing and analytics solution, for companies of all types. It is a very complete software suite that includes schedule management, branding, scheduling, account management, and monitoring. Apps for Android and iOS are available.
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram, and Pinterest are among the social media platforms that SocialPilot supports. Bulk scheduling is a feature of the app that helps users to build and organize posts across various social media sites from a single dashboard.
A calendar functionality in SocialPilot helps users to monitor social media messages on a regular, weekly, or monthly basis. Filters can be added to the calendar, and posts can be accessed by accounts and classes. Users will reschedule posts by dragging and dropping them onto the calendar interface.
Users will also able to track indicators such as content participation, user growth, demographics, influencers, and rivals for each website's social media strategies.
Overall: SocialPilot is a cloud-based social media management application that assists marketers with content creation, curation, scheduling, and general management of their social media footprint.
Without leaving the dashboard, you can handle the overall social media campaigns, including customer monitoring, Facebook content raising, and social listening. This for a very fair price.
Now we will review SocialPilot main Fonctionalities
1. SocialPilot Scheduling & Publication features
With SocialPilot, you can easily publish and maintain your social media messages thanks to its user-friendly interface and functionality. How nice is it, though? Where does it fall short?
Let's take a look...
a) Use SocialPilot for Publishing
When finding a social media scheduling method, the first and most important thing to look for is support for all major social media channels.
Both major social media sites on which you'd like to provide a voice for your company are sponsored by SocialPilot. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google My Company, Instagram, Pinterest, Tiktok, Tumblr, and VK are some of the most used social media platforms. That's about what a modern communications firm or customer would want.
As soon as you add an account, you can configure the posting schedule or time table, which is convenient since you won't have to fiddle with it later.
Yeah, you read it correctly. It's likely that SocialPilot is the only social media scheduling platform for TikTok that makes scheduling TikTok posts a breeze.
TikTok is gaining a lot of traction as the newest member of the social media family, and whether you're on TikTok or the agency offers TikTok social media management services, this can be a useful tool.
Right from the editor, you can create a post and then adjust it to suit and look nice on other platforms. This is what I enjoyed about Buffer as well.
For websites that support it, you can also build and schedule carousel posts (Facebook, LinkedIn)
If you want to improve interaction, SocialPilot helps you to tag people in your posts (both on Facebook and LinkedIn mentions).
When scheduling any social media post, though, I would not use tagging because I would not be present on the site to engage with them.
That's the equivalent of having a conversation and then turning your back on it.
Nonetheless, having the feature is beneficial. In case something goes wrong.
Another valuable aspect I'd like to highlight is the tool's integration of workflows. It encourages you to delegate roles to team members and promotes teamwork.
You should give them responsibilities including content designer (in charge of content creation), manager (in charge of checking, approving, and other tasks), and you as the owner (who can add/remove team members and delegate them tasks).
b) Use SocialPilot for Scheduling
SocialPilot has a variety of choices for scheduling the posts so that they blend with your marketing calendar.
You can add posts to the queue, publish them right away, plan them for the next time frame, share them several times at your leisure, or store them as drafts for later.
You may also use SocialPilot to bulk upload up to 500 messages. It helps you to bulk upload all text and image notifications (something Buffer fails miserably at and Hootsuite works with a workaround). More information on how to do it can be found here.
c) Calendar on SocialPilot
SocialPilot's calendar vision appealed to me. It's similar to the one I use on Buffer and allows you to see what's coming up in your content arsenal.
It allows you to filter your posts as well as your clients' calendars to make your job easier. You may also use filters to adjust the view to month, week, or day.
d) Curation of Content
As an author, one of my greatest challenges is coming up with enough material to hold my social media accounts full of interesting posts.
Until moving to SocialPiot, I used PostPlanner (free, restricted version), which provides limitless content ideas to help you select shareable content based on your niche, keywords, and influencers.
You may also add RSS feeds to automatically share your own or other influencers' blog posts. This encourages me to post posts from other bloggers, which assists in the creation of relationships and networking.
2. SocialPilot Partnership & Customer Management features
Another thing to consider when purchasing a social media management app is whether or not it allows for team management and how convenient it is to collaborate when using it.
SocialPilot is designed for teams and agency owners to work easily while preserving a high degree of privacy, which inspired me greatly.
Clients can allow you access to their social media pages without having to exchange their login credentials (this is specially useful for clients that hesistate to share their social media accounts to someone newly hired).
This is just a small portion of the onboarding process...
...you will make an even bigger difference by customizing the invitation ties with your company's logo. SocialPilot helps you to customize the tool with your branding and brand colors, making it seem as if it were created specifically by your agency.
Management of your team: I briefly mentioned SocialPilot's team management capabilities above, but there's one more thing I'd like to mention: SocialPilot allows you to offer limited access to your social inbox and analytics, allowing you to assign any of these activities to your team if you want to.
3. SocialPilot's Social Listening and Mailbox features
All the views, notes, and updates made on your Facebook accounts are available through SocialPilot's social listening features.
The dashboard allows you to display up to 30 days of results, which should be enough for you to answer. The whole feature is a time saver that lets you increase productivity by preventing you from flipping between sites and websites.
I'd like to see Twitter incorporation as well, as much as I like this (given how good the platform is for connecting with customers, addressing their issues and helping users reach out to businesses).
However, if your followers are more interested in Facebook or you aren't into social listening, this isn't a deal breaker.
However, if you're specifically interested in brand monitoring and social media engagement tracking, I suggest giving Sendible a try, as it's my personal favorite in this field.
4. Boost Posts on Facebook Using SocialPilot: Facebook ads
I dislike using a social media management program to manage advertisements and prefer to use native channels instead. However, if you're a communications firm with many customers, this may be inconvenient.
Boosting messages directly from your dashboard is possible with SocialPilot. It has all of the choices for setting goals, narrowing the audience, ad criteria, and so on.
They also provide you with useful ad insights, which I find useful.
5. SocialPilot Analytics & Perspectives tool
SocialPilot makes it simple to see what was there, what's happening, and what the social media efforts are yielding in terms of ROI.
It has a powerful Analytics tool that provides transparent and detailed data on various platforms, including Google My Company. You can also use SocialPilot to provide details on articles that haven't been published yet.
Right from SocialPilot's dashboard, here's a rundown of my Facebook account's analytics. I'm disappointed that Facebook communities don't have analytics (because I am mostly active in my Facebook Group, rather than use pages)
Here are updates from Twitter's dashboard. These files can be downloaded as PDFs or emailed to team members or customers.
Other SocialPilot features
Here are a few main features to bear in mind:
- Overview of the audience, its rise, and interaction
- Statistics on the demographics
- Tag clouds for results, interaction, and the performance of your differents posts
- Date and mark your wise posts, as well as user tastes and preferences (for Twitter)
- Pins every day, analyze your pins and your board (for Pinterest)
- Account analysis and summary, reach/impression the different trends, follower count trend, and post analytics (for LinkedIn)
- Customer action, post results, search performance, view research, and customer reviews and ratings (for Google My Business)
- Find out the best time to post (something I use often after switching to SocialPilot from Buffer)
You may also submit PDF files to customers and team members directly.
6. SocialPilot white label tool
The white label functionality of SocialPilot helps you to adapt your clients' SocialPilot experience to fit your brand and sound.
You can change the website's URL, appearance, colour scheme, fonts, personalized newsletters, customized analytics reports, and even reseller privileges (available only with the Enterprise Plan).
7. Developer Support, Access to API, and SocialPilot Integrations
Integrations, API control, and other features are accessible from SocialPilot, and the list is continually growing.
- Developers will use SocialPilot's API to align it with their product creation processes.
- Zapier (infinite possibilities for expanding functionality), Google Drive, Box, Canva, Feedly, and URL shortners like rebrandly, bit.ly, and snip.ly are all integrated into SocialPilot.
- To support you take your social media experience with you on the go, SocialPilot has applications for both Android and iOS.
- When browsing the internet, the SocialPilot plugin extensions for Chrome and Firefox make it easier to curate and plan content.
8. Is the Cost of Using SocialPilot Worth It?
Individuals, bloggers, influencers, agencies, and enterprise applications are all served by SocialPilot. Aside from that, you can give SocialPilot a try for 14 days for free (no credit card required).
When it comes to pricing, SocialPilot offers four main options: Technical, Small Squad, Agency, and Enterprise. They cost around $25 a month, $41.66 per month, $83.33 per month, and personalized pricing (billed annually).
Except for the number of social pages, team members, and ad accounts that you will link, all SocialPilot plans contain nearly all functionality.
The professional programme, according to our analysis, includes 25 social media profiles, 3 staff members, and 2 Facebook ad accounts. However, in order to use Social Inbox, White Label, and client management, you must choose at least the Agency contract, which costs $41.66 a month and is paid monthly.
The Enterprise strategy includes the ability to white mark Social Pilot as a platform. You will use it and show it to your clients as your own app.
Please refer to the Price table below to see the exact prices for the annual billing
9. Customer Service & Support at SocialPilot
For self-service, SocialPilot has a broad knowledgebase. If you need assistance with something, it also provides a customer care department that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Customer care at SocialPilot is satisfactory (if not exceptional), with many choices for reaching them.
The live chat option on their website isn't exactly a "live chat" with a response time of a few hours, but it does help to get a better response than most other SocialPilot alternatives.
Aside from that, they provide email support with a very fast response time. During the course of this analysis, I asked them a variety of questions (including how to allow clients calendar access, does SocialPilot help Instagram analytics, and so on), and they answered in less than 2 hours.
This is commendable, given that their webpage advertises a response time of "less than 4 hours." Brands that underpromise and overdeliver are my favorites.
Pros and Cons with SocialPilot
Pros with SocialPilot
- Affordably priced
- Both major social media sites are supported, including TikTok.
- Almost all social media control features, such as social listening and scheduling, are available.
- The use of advanced analytics
- Options for resellers
- Curation of content
- Bulk picture scheduling (which Hootsuite and Buffer don't provide)
Cons of SocialPilot
- Instagram metrics was lacking.
- There isn't a full-fledged free plan available.
10. Alternatives to SocialPilot and a Detailed Contrast
Without including other social media management platforms on the market, I don't think this SocialPilot analysis will be accurate.
We'll compare SocialPilot to its rivals in this segment to see if it has a shot over them.
There are several SocialPilot rivals, but HootSuite and Buffer, which have a greater user base than SocialPilot, are the ones who have a shot against the method.
Aside from that, we have Sendible, which has received positive feedback and is worth noting as a SocialPilot option. To learn more about how Sendible works, read my Sendible analysis (or compare it to Hootsuite in my Sendible vs Hootsuite article).
10.1. Hootsuite vs. SocialPilot in 2021
Hootsuite has long been the market leader in social media scheduling software, and while it is already highly useful for both individuals and companies, SocialPilot has enhanced the process by introducing additional capabilities at an absurdly low cost.
Let's compare SocialPilot and Hootsuite to see which one is best for you:
- User Interface: The clumsiest user interface is the one thing that has kept me from using Hootsuite for anything other than experiments and feedback. Although I recognize that this is a personal choice, I agree that SocialPilot (and other social media tools in general) have a much better user interface than Hootsuite's dated look.
- Social media sites: Another difference is that SocialPilot supports a broader variety of social media networks, including Google My Company, Tumblr, VK, and TikTok, while Hootsuite does not. Hootsuite supports YouTube, and SocialPilot makes it possible with the help of a Zapier workaround. Hootsuite, on the other hand, uses Tailwind to conquer the Pinterest inability.
- Bulk scheduling with image:Although both platforms allow bulk scheduling, SocialPilot also has image support, which Hootsuite does not.
- Integrations: To compensate for what they don't have natively, both SocialPilot and Hootsuite use integrations and workarounds. Hootsuite, for example, has YouTube integration, which SocialPilot changes with Zapier; additionally, Hootsuite lacks native Pinterest integration, which it compensates for with Tailwind.
- Library for content: Content repository (saving drafts of posts for use and reuse) is included with all SocialPilot plans beginning from $25 per month. If you go for Hootsuite, though, the app library is only accessible with the enterprise plan (starting at $599!) and higher.
- The team Management : Since Hootsuite's price options do not provide funding for teams, you should consider splitting the number of social media accounts into customers. The cheapest package, which serves up to 3 people, costs $129 a month, while SocialPilot costs $25 a month and has more options and a dedicated client management center. As a consequence, picking the winner is easy.
- Finally, the most important distinction is the tool pricing. SocialPilot's cheapest plan costs $25 per month and includes 25 social accounts, 3 team members, and preference help, while Hootsuite's cheapest plan costs $29 per month (both paid annually) and includes just 10 profiles, 1 person, and regular support. The same pattern holds true for higher plans as well.
Overall: The winner of this battle between SocialPilot and Hootsuite is SocialPilot. I like how it provides you with anything you need at the lowest possible cost. It is the most cost-effective choice.
Let's take a look at another SocialPilot option, Buffer.
10.2. Buffer vs. SocialPilot in 2021
Buffer, like Hootsuite, has been around for quite some time. It represents a wide range of clients and serves as a reliable platform on social media best practices.
However, let's compare and contrast SocialPilot and Buffer in terms of the resources they provide:
- Ease of use: I used to use Buffer, and I've always admired their user interface and simplicity. Both SocialPilot and Buffer are putting forward their best efforts in this area.
- Social Networking Channels: With more social media platform funding, SocialPilot is obviously the winner, enabling you to appeal to a wider customer base and a more varied social media presence. Buffer doesn't help Google My Company, VK, Tumblr, or TikTok, but SocialPilot does.
- Social Mailbox: Buffer's $99 package does not include social inbox. They had released Buffer Reply a while ago, but when I went back to their website, I discovered that it now redirects to an error 404 page with no details about the tool's retirement or merger.
- Bulk Scheduling: Buffer does not have a native bulk scheduling functionality, but you can use BulkBuffer.com as a workaround. I've used it before, and while I appreciate them making anything like that, it's clumsy and lacks an image upload feature. Bulk upload is integrated into SocialPilot.
- Support for automated RSS: This isn't a deal breaker for most people, but it's worth mentioning. Buffer only allows for manual RSS submissions, while SocialPilot allows for both manual and automatic RSS submissions.
- Support for Facebook advertising: SocialPilot's dashboard allows you to boost and track your ads on Facebook. Buffer, despite its higher price, does not support Facebook advertising or any other form of ad production directly from their dashboard.
- Pricing: As I previously said, pricing nearly always outweighs the bulk of a tool's advantages because capital is the most precious resource an organization has and it depletes rapidly. With a very low price barrier, SocialPilot comes out on top. Buffer's all-inclusive package starts at $99 per month for 25 profiles, 4 team members, and regular support, while SocialPilot's all-inclusive plan starts at $25 per month for 25 profiles, 3 team members, and preference support.
Overall: In our SocialPilot vs. Buffer comparison, SocialPilot came out on top.
